All service categories include a comprehensive review of the project documents to identify deficiencies, oversights, errors, and/or conflicts that could affect constructability, cost and performance. With post-construction work, the same process helps pinpoint the source of issues and develop effective solutions.
Getting involved early in the process, Hameldon will help set the project on the right path for a successful outcome. By taking this step, clients are better prepared to recognize potential problems and misinterpretations amongst the project team and avoid them in advance.
Consulting with Hameldon Services during the building process brings dedicated attention to wall and ceiling systems, as well as any elements that may affect them. This involvement delivers a level of expertise rarely found in this facet of construction, helping ensure the final appearance meets expectations, systems function as intended, and most critically that life safety measures are properly implemented. Field observation reports serve as a key resource for preventing errors and misunderstandings during construction, while also creating a detailed record for future reference, an approach seldom utilized within the wall and ceiling industry.
Post-construction investigations may be limited to visual inspections or non-invasive methods, depending on the type of system and ease of access. However, invasive testing may be necessary to verify or supplement inconclusive non-invasive findings. Intrusive measures might also be required to identify the materials used, assess installation methods, determine the root cause of an issue, or establish an appropriate repair solution.
Do keep in mind certain installations in this field are both a science, and an art. There are times when there may be two, or more views, opinions or approaches of what is proper and not necessarily addressed by the documents, codes, standards, or an industry practice does not exist. I have the experience, education, resources and regularly participate in continuing education to make the suitable recommendations, however in such a circumstance, a Design Professional, ideally, the one of record, will need to be involved and relied on for ultimate approval.
Although Hameldon Services is required to carry and maintains Professional Liability Insurance, I do not have a license in any discipline, nor does the company retain such with a governing body.
